Greenbush Brewing – Great Beer in the Wild West

by | Apr 19, 2015 | Beer, Michigan, Travel | 1 comment

After a whirlwind visit to the House of Blues Chicago for Chuck to cover At The Gates, Converge, Pallbearer and Vallenfyre on April 5th we stopped at the Greenbush Brewing Co. It was raining and I hit the door running. I couldn’t help thinking this must be how weary travelers felt when they hit the saloon doors after sitting in the saddle for hours. That bar was a welcome sight!

I was half expecting to see John Wayne stroll around the corner. He didn’t of course, but I did spy Ryan Beach sitting at a table having lunch. We first met Ryan the U.P. Beer Festival.

I looked around for Jen, but she was MIA. I always look forward to chatting with her. Truth be told she is partially responsible for my hangover after the 2014 Winter Beer festival. I drank an “A Sheep In Tall Grass” while buying my event shirt from Jen — Greenbush always has the best event shirts! That beer pretty much set the tone for the remainder of the day. I spent the afternoon trying to find something similar.

Chuck chatted with both Beach and Jen during the 2015 Winter Beer Festival.

Greenbush Beer!

Ah yes the beer! We both ordered a Yogi Borealis. We noticed the Middle Finger of Buddha after placing our orders. If we didn’t have several hours to drive, we would have definitely ordered. We consoled ourselves with a visit to the Annex to buy bottles to-go.

Back on the Road

We were nourished, rested and ready to return to the road. We left Sawyer, Michigan with a trunk packed with souvenirs from the Greenbush Brewing Co annex. We are looking forward to the Summer Beer Festival and hopefully another encounter with our friends from Geenbush! We have got more pictures in our gallery.
